Allegations on ministers, black magic on the president of Maldives

On 23^rd June, the Maldives police arrested two ministers, Fathima Shamnaz and Adam Rameez, along with two other individuals were arrested allegedly for performing black magic on President Mohamed Muizzu

Fathima Shamnaz Ali Saleem, the state minister for the environment ministry, and Adam Rameez, her ex-husband, a minister at the president’s office were detained.

Certain suspicions were raised about their activities and then the arrests were made after investigation.

On the ground of suspicion, the arrests were made. On 27^th June both were also suspended from their position as ministers.

The case has raised the influence of traditional beliefs in contemporary politics and the extent to which they can have an impact on the governance of the country of Maldives.

Till now, no official statement has been made by the president regarding the arrests and this has given space to the rumors and speculations.
