Tripura High Court Transfers Civil Judge Accused of Sexual Harassment, Launches Probe into Survivor’s Allegation

The Tripura High Court has transferred Biswatosh Dhar, a Kamalpur civil judge accused of sexually harassing a rape survivor, to his chambers. The accused judicial officer will be kept on compulsory waiting for future postings.
A three-member panel, led by Dhalai District and Sessions Judge Gautam Sarkar, initiated a probe into the survivor’s allegation.
The woman claimed the incident occurred on February 16, when she went to the chamber of a first-class judicial magistrate, Kamalpur, to get her statement recorded.
