Patna HC says city is not safe for anyone if lawyers can be assaulted

The Patna HC said that the city of Patna is not safe for anyone to live in if the lawyers can get attacked late at night
The police in the area of Jakkanpur area was condemned by the court as when the lawyer complained of being attacked by his landlord and associates, the police did not respond properly.
Justice Bibek Chaudhuri said that the police were biased towards the landlord and even said that these were minor incidents.
The plea was filed by advocate Abhishek Kumar Srivastava who had filed the FIR regarding the incident.
The court said that the police initially not only were reluctant to register the FIR but also cited only the offense as per sections 308 and 323 whereas there were also other serious offenses, such as sections 307 and 326, as these allegations were more serious than that of grievous hurt.
The court gave directions to the senior superintendent of police at Patna to form a special investigation team and probe into the matter.
