Parliament security lapse:- Plea filed in SC, sought probe monitored by retired judge

PIL was filed by a lawyer in the SC whereby he had sought the judicial investigation under the supervision of any retired SC judge in the matter of the Lok Sabha security breach which happened on December 13, 2023.
The petitioner seeks an ‘independent, credible and impartial’ investigation of the matter to be done under the supervision of a retired SC judge. The petition was filed by the Advocate on Record, Shruti Bisht.
The issue pertains to the incident of 13th December 2023, where two men entered the parliament on the visitor’s passes and jumped from the visitor’s gallery into the hall of the Lok Sabha. While doing so, they opened smoke canisters and filled the house with smoke.
SC lawyer Abu Sohel, said that the incident was a major security breach and therefore filed a petition invoking article 2 of the constitution of India.
The Delhi Police has registered an FIR, thereby invoking anti-terror law. 5 persons associated with the incident have been arrested. The court has demanded their custody for seven days.
