Civil Judge’s Plea alleging sexual harassment by district judge was refused by the SC

On Wednesday, a refusal was registered by the SC, to entertain the writ petition that was filed by the Civil Judge from Uttar Pradesh, who had alleged that she was sexually harassed by a district judge.

The bench which comprised justices Hrishikesh Roy and Sandeep Mehta had noted that the committee of internal complaints of the Allahabad High Court has seized the matter. As a reason, the refusal was made by the bench to entertain the writ petition and dismissed the same.

It Was sought by the petitioner, that the directions for a fair inquiry be given, based on her complaint, and also sought the transfer of the accused district judge as the witnesses are his immediate subordinate.
