10-day parole granted to a convict of the Bilkis Bano Case

A 10-day parole was granted by the Gujarat HC to one of the convicts of the infamous Bilkis Bano Gangrape Case.

It was granted to allow him to attend the wedding of his nephew on 5th March 2024.

Chandana had approached the court after a few weeks when the convicts were asked by the SC to surrender

The bench of Justice Divyesh A Joshi had granted parole to him on the condition that he has to furnish a bail bond of Rs. 5000.

Chandana has been asked by the court to surrender himself before the jail authorities, on or before the expiry of the period of parole.
