Disgraceful, irrelevant to the Teachings of Christ: SC on the dispute among the Christian Communities

Issue:
The Supreme Court voiced concern over the conflict between the CSI group of Christians and the London Missionary Society (LMS), two Christian groups.
Facts of the Case:
The CSI was established in 1947 as a result of the unification of the SIUC and other protestant faiths.
The CSI resolved that upon the merger, all LMS members will be turned into the CSI. Nearly twenty years later, while a lawsuit over the assets was still proceeding in court, the LMS Corporation, who had been acting as trustees, handed the LMS properties to the CSI without providing any compensation to the LMS members.
The High Court rejected a revision petition that was submitted there. After then, a different property-related case was brought before the High Court, and the Palliyadi Church, which is a part of the LMS community, lost.
Arguments:
It is false to believe that changing one’s religion automatically happens. The Palliyadi church was also said to have rejected the rituals and authority of the CSI Bishop and to have never permitted meddling from the CSI institution. Being an autonomous congregational church that chose not to join the CSI Union in 1947, the church is arguing its cause.
Reasoning:
The controversy in the current petition has nothing to do with the beliefs of the faith’s founder, Jesus Christ.
Provisions used in the case:
