Central government appoints two lawyers, one judicial officer as Uttarakhand judges.

The appointment of two lawyers and one judicial officer as judges of the Uttarakhand High Court has been announced by the central government. Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju moved the Tweet.
Three people attended the meeting:
– Rrakesh Thapliyal;
– Pankaj Purohit; and
– Vivek Bharti Sharma (Court Clerk) These three names along with the name of Advocate Subhash Upadhyay were recommended.
The Supreme Court recommended the collegium to promote these three names in the last meeting of the collegium. In September 2022, the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court filed the petition after consulting his two senior colleagues.
The Chief Minister and Governor of Uttarakhand and the Union Justice Ministry subsequently agreed to the recommendations. As of April 1, the Uttarakhand High Court is functioning with the sanctified power of 11 judges with 5 judges, which is the vacant position of 6.
