Bombay HC grants bail in Mira Road Communal Riots Case

The HC of Bombay granted bail to 14 men who were accused of rioting as well as causing injury to a Hindu family during the celebration of the consecration of the Ayodhya Lord Ram Temple in Mira Road in 2024.

Justice Nijamoodin Jamadar took note that the accused was in custody since January, and there is a huge number of witnesses and accused. Therefore the trial cannot be concluded within a reasonable time.

The communal riots that had taken place in Mira Road at night on 21st January 2024.

The complaint and his family were taking out a religious procession.

Due to a traffic jam, they took a diverted route, where they were suddenly attacked.

The bench granted bail to the accused.
