Arvind Kejriwal released on Interim Bail : SC

Last Updated on July 14, 2024 by News Desk

The SC had reserved its decision on May 17th to pronounce its verdict on 13th June.

The bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta pronounced its decision.

Earlier the same bench had granted an interim bail to Mr. Arvind Kejriwal up till 1st June.

The court framed questions that are,

  1. Whether there is a need and necessity for formal parameters of arrest?
  2. Can the same be read into section 19 PMLA.

Mere interrogation does not allow an arrest.

The court said that since the right to life is concerned and the matter is referred to a larger bench, the bench directed Arvind Kejriwal to be released on interim bail.
