Justice B V Nagarathna was speaking at the introductory session of the courts and constitution conference that was organized by the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
She expressed she doesn’t have a good view of the state governors being involved in the litigation before the constitutional courts.
She said governors must perform in line with the constitution rather than being told what must be done and not be done.
She said that the Supreme Court has continued to strengthen the democratic foundation of the country.
She further praised the constituter of the constitution bench, former chief justice of India, Uday Umesh Lalit, who has channelized the dealing of the long pending cases.
Further discussing demonetization, she said that she was moved by the plight of the common man during that period.
She also talked about reproductive rights in light of the medical termination of pregnancy cases.
She highlighted the metamorphic and revolutionizing journey of the Supreme Court of India.
