The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to entertain a petition by a bunch of Delhi University students challenging the university’s decision to conduct semester exams in offline mode.
The bench of Justice Rekha Palli said that it is not the right time to pass any orders on the matter and asked the students to approach the court again if there is any change in circumstances in the coming days.
Major contentions raised by students in the petition were:
1. If the students can study through online mode then they should not be compelled to appear in exams through offline mode either.
2. Nearly two-thirds of the students studying at DU come from outside the national capital, have to stay in PGs, and travel through public transport.
Thus, more exposed to the coronavirus, which puts them at a higher risk.
